Community Guidelines

1. Purpose of the community spaces

Findit community spaces are user-generated discussion channels for expats and local users. They may include nationality groups, city communities, recommendations, local notice boards, marketplace-adjacent discussions, events, podcasts, missed connections, and peer support. Findit may provide hosting, discovery, categories, moderation tools, report buttons, safety filters, and technical ranking, but user posts remain the responsibility of the posting user.

2. No endorsement and no general pre-screening

Findit does not guarantee that community posts are true, safe, legal, current, non-commercial, licensed, tax-compliant, sanitary, employment-compliant, immigration-compliant, or suitable for offline reliance. Users must perform their own checks before acting on any post, meeting anyone, carrying items, sharing rooms, covering shifts, sending money, attending events, or accepting work.

3. Discussion becomes an offer

A user cannot avoid marketplace onboarding, taxes, licenses, safety disclosures, platform fees, payment controls, review controls, or category rules by moving a commercial offer into a community thread, private message, comment, group, or event post. When a post offers or requests paid work, food, housing, transport, luggage carrying, event tickets, professional help, business services, or any regulated activity, Findit may require conversion into the correct listing type, provider onboarding, category declaration, or removal.

4. Commercial Community posts

Findit may require a Community post to be converted into an appropriate Listing or advertising format where it primarily offers paid services, goods, accommodation, vehicle sale or rental, event tickets, employment-agency advertising or another commercial activity. Repeated commercial posts that avoid Provider onboarding, advertiser identity, category review, sponsored-content labelling or Listing requirements may be limited or removed.

5. Prohibited content

Users may not post scams, fraud, hate content, harassment, doxxing, threats, unlawful discrimination, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, illegal work, unlicensed money services, unsafe transport offers, unlawful food offers, medical claims, immigration scams, fake documents, or regulated professional services without required authorization.

6. Additional prohibited misuse

Users must not post child sexual abuse material; terrorist content; credible threats; non-consensual intimate material; doxxing; impersonation; counterfeit or stolen goods; illegal recruitment; discriminatory housing or employment offers; unlicensed regulated services; unsafe products; fabricated evidence; malware; phishing; or content that facilitates fraud, trafficking or evasion of sanctions or law enforcement.

7. Money exchange, remittance, loans, and crypto

Users may discuss general financial literacy, public exchange-rate information and experiences with authorised financial providers. They must not arrange informal currency exchange, cash swaps, remittance, crypto trades, loans, salary advances, investment pooling, payment-card use, bank-account rental, mule accounts, deposit taking or another regulated or unlawful financial activity through Community spaces.

A generic post, message or payment link does not make financial intermediation lawful. Any future regulated financial category must be separately approved and operated through appropriately authorised providers and compliance controls.

8. Ride sharing and car pooling

Ride-sharing discussion is limited to lawful peer coordination and cost sharing. Users may not use Findit to operate an unlicensed taxi, bus, airport shuttle, courier, passenger transport, freight, or delivery business. Drivers must hold valid driving rights, vehicle registration, insurance, and all required permissions.

9. Community transport safety

Ride-sharing posts must be genuine non-commercial cost sharing unless the Provider is lawfully authorised for commercial passenger transport. Users must check the driver, vehicle, route and insurance appropriate to the arrangement and should share trip details with a trusted person. Findit does not inspect every driver or vehicle and is not the transport operator unless expressly identified.

10. Luggage space and cross-border carrying

Luggage-space posts are high-risk. Users must not carry sealed unknown packages, controlled goods, narcotics, prescription medicines, tobacco, alcohol, weapons, cash bundles, identity documents, animals, perishable food, counterfeit goods, customs-restricted goods, or commercial parcels unless legally permitted and properly declared. Findit does not inspect vehicles, drivers, parcels, baggage, border documents, customs status, route safety, or insurance.

11. Unknown parcel prohibition

Users must not offer or agree to carry sealed, unknown or suspicious parcels for strangers. Controlled goods, medicines, weapons, cash, identity documents, animals, perishables and customs-restricted items must not be carried unless the activity is lawful, authorised and fully declared. Suspicious requests should be reported rather than accepted.

12. Restaurant shift cover and casual work

Posts looking for someone to cover a restaurant shift, bar shift, kitchen shift, delivery shift, event shift, cleaning shift, warehouse shift, or similar work must comply with labor law, right-to-work rules, tax rules, employer policies, workplace safety, and food-handling or sanitary requirements. Findit is not the employer, temporary work agency, payroll provider, recruiter, visa sponsor, or workplace supervisor for community shift posts. Posts requesting unpaid trial shifts, illegal cash work, undocumented work, unsafe kitchen work, discrimination, exploitation, withheld pay, or fees charged to workers may be removed.

13. Spotted and missed connections

Spotted-style posts are permitted only as low-detail, non-invasive missed-connection posts. Users may not publish photos, video, exact live location, address, workplace shift details, school details, license plates, phone numbers, social handles, private identifiers, immigration status, health details, or other identifying personal data about another person without that person consent. Posts must not target minors, vulnerable persons, workers performing public-facing jobs, people in clinics, religious spaces, shelters, immigration offices, government offices, or other sensitive contexts. Stalking, harassment, sexualized descriptions, repeated attempts to identify someone, crowd-sourcing a person identity, doxxing, threats, or pressure to contact someone are prohibited.

14. Privacy in missed-connections posts

Posts must not publish identifying photographs without permission, vehicle registration numbers, exact live locations, private telephone numbers, residential addresses or information identifying minors. A person who asks not to be identified or contacted must not be pursued through repeated posts or messages.

15. Barter, donations, giveaways, and mutual aid

Users may discuss lawful barter, free giveaways, donations, and mutual aid, but the posting user remains responsible for item ownership, condition, safety, delivery, tax treatment, and truthful descriptions. Findit does not guarantee item quality, charitable status, tax deductibility, delivery, or recipient need. Users may not offer or request prohibited goods, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, unsafe food, medicines, medical devices, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, identity documents, controlled products, recalled products, hazardous items, or misleading charity collections.

16. Room leasing, summer sublets, room swaps, and accommodation

Community posts for temporary room leasing, summer sublets, room swaps, couch stays, shared rooms, or accommodation while away for work are user-generated housing posts. The poster warrants that they have the legal right to offer the space and that the offer complies with the lease, landlord consent, building rules, tax duties, housing law, tenant protections, safety rules, and anti-discrimination law. Findit is not the landlord, tenant, broker, property manager, deposit holder, insurer, guarantor, or legal adviser.

17. Accommodation verification and payment safety

Posters must have authority to advertise the accommodation and comply with lease, landlord, tax, safety and anti-discrimination duties. Users should verify identity and relevant documents, use safe viewing arrangements, avoid unexplained advance payments and report suspicious behaviour. Accommodation posts must not request payment to Findit unless an approved checkout expressly makes that payment available.

18. Events, parties, meetups, podcasts, and local media

Users may discuss upcoming events, parties, cultural activities, networking, podcasts, interviews, livestreams, and community media. The organizer or publisher remains responsible for permits, venue safety, age limits, alcohol rules, music and copyright licensing, ticket terms, refunds, privacy releases, recording consent, defamation, advertising disclosures, and public-safety obligations. Findit is not the event organizer, venue operator, security provider, promoter, broadcaster, publisher, editor, ticket guarantor, or insurer unless expressly identified as such.

19. Recording, media and participant notices

An organiser or publisher is responsible for permissions and licences required for music, images, performers, speakers, interviews, recording, livestreaming and publication. Participants must be informed where an event or Community activity will be photographed, recorded or broadcast when required. Uploaders must hold the necessary rights and respect privacy, image and publicity rights.

20. Recommendations, agencies, immigration help, and professional referrals

Users may recommend restaurants, agencies, landlords, lawyers, translators, accountants, recruiters, doctors, schools, churches, community groups, and local services. Recommendations must be honest and must disclose paid promotion, affiliate relationships, employment, ownership, family connection, or other material conflicts where applicable. Community recommendations are not Findit endorsements. Posts selling visa approvals, guaranteed residence permits, fake documents, job placement for illegal fees, or unlicensed professional advice are prohibited.

21. Reviews and reputation abuse

Users must not threaten reviews to obtain refunds, discounts, work, housing, visas, rides, money, goods, or other benefits. Users must not sell reviews, coordinate review rings, self-review, or post fake allegations. Review abuse may lead to removal, restriction, suspension, or other proportionate enforcement.

22. Reporting, moderation, and complaints

Findit may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend posting, preserve evidence, or report serious issues where legally justified. Users should use report tools for scams, harassment, doxxing, illegal work, unsafe food, unlicensed financial activity, transport risk, housing scams, or other abuse. Where required by law, users may receive reasons and a complaint path for moderation actions.

23. Illegal-content notice and internal appeal

Anyone may report suspected illegal or prohibited content using the available report function or by contacting Findit. A report should identify the content and explain the concern. Findit may ask for clarification, preserve relevant evidence and take proportionate temporary or permanent action.

Where required, the affected user or reporter will receive a statement of reasons and access to an internal complaint route. Automated assistance does not remove human review where law requires it. Repeatedly submitting manifestly unfounded notices or complaints may result in proportionate safeguards after warning.

24. Evidence preservation

Where content, a communication or an account is reported, restricted or appealed, Findit may preserve relevant versions, communications, technical records and submitted evidence for the period reasonably required to investigate, handle an appeal, protect users, establish or defend legal claims, comply with a legal hold or meet applicable obligations.

25. Safety and offline meetings

Findit does not endorse, supervise, authenticate, insure, or guarantee users who meet offline through the platform. Users are responsible for safety, identity checks, meeting arrangements, payment method, contracts, receipts, and due diligence.

26. Emergency and offline-safety limits

Users should meet in safe places where appropriate, tell a trusted person, verify identity and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information or money in advance. Findit is not an emergency service. Immediate danger, suspected crime, missing persons or urgent health concerns should be reported to the appropriate emergency service or authority.

27. Enforcement

Violations may result in content removal, warning, reduced visibility, community posting restriction, provider onboarding requirement, wallet hold limited to connected risk, profile suspension, account termination, evidence preservation, or authority reporting where proportionate and legally justified.
